Individual Tailor-made Safari Tanzania
I Dream of Africa is a Local Tanzanian Tour Operator based in Arusha with years of experience in organising tailor-made safaris in Tanzania and Kenya. We are specialised in accessing the many pristine, remote and authentic destinations, especially in the popular national parks.
We offer custom tours with an itinerary based on your choice of highlights, activities and accommodations. You make your own personal tour and we assist with the planning and preparations. Tanzania is our home and we can’t wait to share our experiences with you! Only when you agree that the tour completely meets your wishes, we will finalize our proposal. Need inspirations? Please have a look at our example safaris.
Our individual safaris are so much more than simply spotting The Big 5. We go off the beaten track and like no other operator, take the time to observe animal behaviour. And one thing is definite: you will take with you most extraordinary and unforgettable experiences to cherish.
I Dream of Africa Ltd is an official registered, local tour operator and member of the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (TATO) and represented on SafariBookings.com.
Daily schedule depends entirely on your wishes
Our Tanzanian safaris offer you a really unique experience: the daily programme depends entirely on your wishes – even when you are on the road! Will it be intensive action-packed days or more relaxed? During a discussion with your guide, the daily routine for your safari will be discussed. Each evening your guide will present you with a few suggestions for the next day. Do you want to see lions? Then it will be an early game drive well before breakfast. Or we could pack breakfast and even lunch for an exciting full day safari. Of course, we have to be back at camp before dark, but between sunrise and sunset the day is completely yours to fill.
Our specialisation: Nature Camping Safaris – 24/7 in the bush
Come camping with us if you want to discover the real natural beauty of Africa up close. You won’t come any closer to nature: we camp in small tents in the middle of nature. Take a look at our Nature Camping Safaris.

Experienced, qualified and passionate guide
Christopher is born and raised in Tanzania, his work experience of 30 years is extensive and varied. He wants to give visitors the real experience of the African bush and everything in it. His dream is that his safari company will contribute to a better life and more development for his community, such as proper water supply, sanitary circumstances and education for all children in his community.
Transparent pricing
By travelling with I Dream of Africa you also support our family and community.
Prices for a safari in Tanzania are relatively high compared to a safari in South African game reserves. This is due to high entry and accommodation fees in the National Parks. The Tanzanian government has chosen a policy which, by way of demanding exorbitant fees, will ultimately protect the eco-systems and preventing mass tourism. Due to this policy, a safari in Tanzania is the most fantastic safari country. A recent survey of more than 3000 reviews of safari tourists and experts from more than 53 different nationalities, has shown that Tanzania is the best safari destination in the world!
In our example safaris all park fees are included. However, this example of 1 day in Serengeti National Park gives you insight into our price structure (prices valid until 30th June 2019):
Conservation fee per person: | $ 60 |
Vehicle entrance fee | $ 300 |
Camping fee per person (also applies for overnight in (Tented)Lodge) | $ 50 |
Bush meal per person (just for having a meal in the park, not the meal itself) | $ 5 |
Total per person** incl 18% VAT (group of 2) | $ 265 |
** This is only for the entrance to the parks, excluding accommodation, salary for your guide/driver, provisions and vehicle costs. Tour operators also pay these amounts and do not receive any benefits nor commission.
